Dont Talk To Me, You Really Dont Want To

What are the chances? that for the past 2 and a half years of me constantly riding the bus without a single soul talking to me, that TODAY of all days TWO complete strangers come up and start "chatting" to me. What are the chances? Wait. I hope this isnt becoming a trend.

First stranger. I was sitting at the bus stop waiting for my bus (as you would do) and a lady crosses in front of me and then sits down besides me. From the corner of my eye I thought she was African and I thought "hmm I havnt seen her around here before, she must have just moved in" But what would I know? I didnt even look up to look at her. I should have. After a few minutes of silence (well I was listening to my music, so no "awkward" silences) She says something, I look up and I find out that it's the mother of a Chinese girl who goes to the same school as my sister. She asks "you have a sister who goes to [name of my sister's school] right?" I quickly said yes. She smiled and kept on asking me questions like "do you go to uni?" (typical) and "why didnt you go uni?" and "why dont you do nursing? Good pay" and everything else on schooling, I answered and justified politely. No need to get offended, I pretty much expect it now, no one can take the fact that I want to do Hospitality so i let them be. Then the bus driver came and they chatted, phew! I didnt mind chatting with the lady she seemed nice but I'm not a good person to chat with. honestly. Oh she did continue talking to me when we got onto the bus, apprently she was getting off at my stop as well.

Going home: I totally missed my bus going home, so I had to wait another half an hour and decided to buy Hungry Jacks (I hadnt eaten all morning, so I got home and scuffled the lot down in a few minutes).

Second stranger. A young man? I dont know, I couldnt tell if he was a school student or a student. He was wearing black suit pants, white long sleeve button up shirt with what looked like a Billabong school looking backpack. Oh and he had the thickest glasses I've ever seen! He was on the bus before me, when I finally got into the bus (the queue was long today) I take my ticket and I see him coming back down to the bus driver, I didnt take notice, just had to step aside so he could pass, I take a seat with a buzzer attached. I'm sitting there getting comfortable and I notice he's coming back and looking at me, I'm thinking "he wasnt sitting here before was he?" "He's not going to ask for it back is he?!" LoL I know, stupid questions but possible. He then starts asking me something

"um..."
(oh no he isnt actually going to ask me to move is he? there's plenty of seats around.)
"Are you going to [suburb]?"
Yeah
"oh ok, I was worried I was on the wrong bus. I'm kinda new around this area, so i'm a lil paranoid"
*fake smile* Oh ok, no I catch this bus all the time, you're on the right bus
"oh good or me and you would be on the wrong bus right now. I havnt seen you around [something something, I missed what he sed, didnt bother asking. I really should have just taken my earphones out]"
Well I usually go the other way
"oh. Are you getting off at the train station?"
No I'm getting off after the train station. You getting off there?
"Before the train station, well, yeah at the train station"
(I couldnt help looking at his glasses, they maginfied his eyes all wierd @@)
"[says something i completely miss]"
sorry what was that?
"what movie did you see?"
(I totally thought he asked me "are you Retarded?") sorry. what movie havnt I seen?
"no what movie did you watch at the cinemas?"
*confused*
"did you go to the cinemas?"
no....

and that was the end of the awkward chat. I was actually worried he would miss his stop, he seemed really lost. but he got off fine. I was going home when the school kids were going home (dammit. I dont like anything that reminds me of school. how can anyone miss school? honestly. ) so the bus was packed like tin of sardines. If only I hadnt missed my other bus.

Ok I forget what I was suppose to actually say, so I'll leave it there.

I am not much of a sociable person as well. when someone talks to me i kinda get abit awkward coz i just don't know what to say. u know i went to campsie with my mum and a girl asked me if i was interested to listen to her explain about the bible. she asked me whether i'm a citizen or resident and where i came from. i didn't know whether she meant country or suburd so i said that i'm from this suburb and she doesn't seem to get it. i do not know what she meant that where i came from. she was a nice friendly person but some how treats me like i'm new to this country! i felt quite awkward!!! i always feel awkward when someone talks to me!!! u just hav that feeling that u rather be by yourself and doing your own business eh? anyway nursing is a hassle- they don't get treated and paid fairly and the Oz PM is doin something about it. go along what eva u like. it happened to me when my 3rd uncle said when i was in the room more than once sayng like this:

"Why doesn't Annie study Finance/Accounting like her sister?"

that's what he said and i heard it. it makes me so mad that i want to throttle him!!!

LOL. You know what the first thing i picked out? Me and you BOTH was starved all morning and BOTH decide to get Hungry Jacks! LOL. what r the odds!?

So anyway i just wrote up a blog and i said pretty much the same thing about my brunch. So funny!

I know exactlt how you feel about ppl starting convos. Honestly its like they can't sit still for a moment with TRYing to make time pass. The main problem is not trying to continue the conversations - its ENDING the goddamn convo. I usually try to brush them off by saying something like "oh i gtg" or when im stcuk WITH them, id be like "Hmm, i think the bus will come soon, i'm gonna wait over there. nice meeting you" *run!*. LOL. Yea it sucks when ppl talk to you.

Annie was confused about the question "where do u come from?"? That means what nationality u r and maybe add in where u were born. Shes funny. "narwee". LOL ahahah! ROFL! *wiping tear from eye*

I'll tell u the last time someone talked to me on the bus was also a guy that i wasnt sure if he was still in school. It was a weekend. And i cnt remember what he asked and what we said but i remember that at first i thought he was one of them try-hard insulting dudes. He was a blonde guy, but geeky (not glasses type geeky though). Skinny and about my height? Well at first he said:

"Where're you going?"( he had 2 girl friends with him- so it seemed to me he was showing off)

"Punchbowl"- Turning back to the window meaning CONVO over.

But he was persistent. "Is that far from here?"

"About another 20mins"

"wow, thats far"

"not that bad when your thinking about stuff" *wink wink- nudge nudge*

I think he got the meaning and so we didnt talk. Oh i didnt mention we were on the bus and it was packed and he was sitting next to me. sorry.
Then he continues talking to the 2 friends in front of him. Then he offers them gum, one turns him down the other takes one. And with my peripheral vision i could see that he had taken one for himself and then i had a feeling he was gonna offer me one. I thought i was kinda rude generally my answers were blunt. I really didnt want to talk at all. But he did do wat i had predicted.

"Would u like a some?"

"No thankyou."

"So where do get off?"

"Punchbowl."

"ooh. ok"

"why do u want the seat to yourself?"

"hahahaha. no just i hav a long way to go"

"where are u going?" (clearly he wanted me tyo ask)

"[someplace]"

"Well at least you'll have to the seat to yourself for the rest of the way."

"hahaha"

Then he turns back says something i cnt rmemebr and then he started talking to his friends again. THANKYOU!

But then he was deep into his convo and so i ended up having to say "Umm.. ummm...*didnt notice* Umm *same ting*...UM! I need to get off now! "

"oh sorry"

"thats fine."

I made it out! I dont like talking. I can have a convo. But i dont want to talk.

omg, this comment is longer than ur blog!

Latrs! Im going out to dinner now. So i'll read ur next blog later.
