11.47pm 22.12.08

11.47pm. On the train home, feet are tired, inconsiderate loud people behind me, phone running low on batteries, listening to THIS PROVIDENCE on the MP3, not hungry but stomach is growling...still no internet connection :(.

missed it by that much

ok, it's totally cold sittng here at the train station (why oh why did I wear 3/4s today?).

I officially start my new job tonight (that's right, I got the job!*super psyched*) but first need to go to my other one.

I'm going to sleep now on the train (and hopefully wake up at my stop). Gosh it's cold in the train too. brrr...

not again

Havnt been able to blog about this week because I dont have internet connection and I still don't. Currently using my mobile phone.

I donated blood on Wednesday with Frenchie after work. This time it was problem free (phew!). Hadn't exactly been smooth the last few times but it never stopped me from donating again and I would encourage others to donate too. Plus doing it with a friend is major fun ;).

The day before that, I stacked it going up the stairs out of the train so painful and not to mention embarrassing but luckily the carriage was empty.

I went for a job interview yesterday morning. Thanks to my mum and her friend for recommending me. Best bit the bistro/bar is located in the city! Exactly what I wanted. The interview went ok i think, Still a little nervous as I am going back on Monday for a trial. Wish me luck!

Finally HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY to my dear friend Annie for tomorrow! (I Would never forget your birthday:)).

Until next time(hopefully i'll have my internet back). Peace.

"you people are sick, but I like you"

Came home at 5 this morning after being out all night. 1st day of the holidays and all my college friends wanted to party (they deserve it). I brought Jenn along with me, she and my college friends got along really well which was a major relief (phew!) I was a lil worried that it would be awkward but she's a totally social person and my college friends are so open and homey that there wasnt any awkward moments. Awesomeness.

The evening consisted of live entertainment at Cockle Bay with Christmas Carollers by the tree and an extortionist named Al who made Jenn and I (and everyone else watching) laugh all through his 40min act. Met up with my college buddies after where they would go eat Thai at Capitol Square and Jenn and I would be next door drinking Juice and Mineral water, because we had eaten a few hours before and werent as hungry (plus we had 13 people all together, there wasnt even enough seats :S).

Followed my college friends to Star Bar where we played snooker for a few hours (I sucked by the way). Jenn and I realised we couldnt drink any alcohol because we were driving home that night (trying to be somewhat "responsible") and stuck with Pink Lemonade, mmm safe.

The night was fun, we parted ways with half my friends at 1.30am as I had to take two of them home because it was late (aw). Hugs and Kisses all around as we parted and they went to another bar (party animals) and J and I had Kebabs.

Fave moment of the night:
My friend Pipe came later that night while we were in the bar, he was talking to me with Jenn beside me (he doesnt know who Jenn is yet). Marcella came up to him and introduced her sister to him (first time we've all seen her sister) but he only turned to look at Jenn for a second and turned back to me and continued talking. Marcella left a lil after with her sister.
Just as we were leaving the bar, Pipe looks at Jenn confused and asks me

Pipe: Where's Marcella?
Me: She went home
Pipe: Why is her sister still here? *looking at Jenn*
Me: *burst out into laughter* That's my friend, Jennifer!

***My Andox I won at Capitol!***

Fin.

Finished term 1 today, holidays now. woo!

Thanks to my lovely college friends who helped me with my assignment today, much love and appreciations XD. (EDIT: who apprently did it so they could get me to hang out all night with them @@, hmmmm)

I bought a christmas tree yesterday, our first ever (it's sad I know). I did want one ever since I was a child (not that I aint still a "child" now XP) but I'm over the whole christmas tree and decorating business (oh wellz) it was more for my sister this year^^ I still love Christmas though :). The thing looks great, sis and bro was setting it up yesterday (while I was fast asleep in my bed) and my sis loves it. "tis the season to be jolly Fa LaLa LaLa La La La!"

Sunday, November 30

Right now...

This is me currently...trying to study for the week ahead, help me :S ok break over, back to my studies :(.

Wednesday, November 26

Je ne parle pas francais

I'm currently teaching myself French (with a lil help from my college friend, Frenchie (FYI that's not his real name, I just like calling him that(he hates it though))). Apparently I need to know French if I want to work in the UK (which I do, very much so), according to Frenchie there are a lot of French cuisine restaurants in the UK and it would help me a lot. So I took his advice (he is a resident of the UK after all) and here I am, attempting to speak French. I suck though. (haha).

1 and a half weeks to go before I'm on holidays, yay! I'm planning to get a second job, hopefully in a restaurant kitchen in the city (or Bondi, If I'm lucky). I want the experience, to feel the pressure and rush and the extra cash would help too (I want to pay my mum back for paying my tuition fees). Fingers crossed (tightly).

Time for me to head to bed. I'm quite tired, the past few weeks have been hectic, assignments being due, drama within my circle of friends and work but i'm still standing (^o^)v.

Saturday, November 22

Its nothing...

I have a massive sore throat. Its got no flem, so its just a dry raw-ness. Its slowly turning into the flu symptoms. I am not having a good week at all. Too many bad things are happening in one go. I just feel like doing nothing for the next decade.

I'm going to sleep now.

p.s. a song thats been whirling around my head. Quote- Ugly Betty's Amanda and Mark:
"Hush little homo, don't you cry. Mandy's gonna steal you a prada tie..."

Tuesday, November 18

I might need to sleep soon...possibly

I'm gonna break down, so tired! need sleep (stop blogging Nhi!) blah blah blah...

Spent the whole day walking around the city talking photos of hotels, I am wiped out! Fell asleep on the train and woke up 2 stops before my station, I dont even remember falling asleep..I'm embarrassed now (in the past people have told me that I snore...). So gloomy today, rain rain go away...

I woke Jenn up at 7.30 this morning (she's on her holidays) so I could use her printer (mine ran out of coloured ink just as I was printing), she's so nice, she actually got up..even though she needed sleep, such a trooper, but then...I found out my assignment wasnt due today and I didnt actually need to wake he up so early :(. ah crap....

Oh Australia premier was today out on George street , saw them setting up for the red carpet premier, too bad it was such a gloomy night. Witnessed the High School Musical 3 premier last Monday (unfortunately) was just passing by the teeny boppers and already my ears were bleeding :( crazy...
Few pics from today...first one is of one of the hotels we went to- Four Points hotel and the second one is of a car that had a huge boulder crushed on top in the middle of a round about...got no idea what that was about...

Saturday, November 15

I'm so tired!

I'm so tired! I smell rank, havnt changed since yesterday, got home at around 1.30am and just went straight to bed in my clothes and didnt have time to shower this morning, yuck! on top of me already smelling all gross like, Frenchie (college friend) thought it'd be funny to splash gross fountain water on me tonight! argh....I didnt get him back :(.

I'm so tried. havnt had a good long sleep in ages, been out most nights or staying up really really late doing assignments. I'm not healthy, I'm not thinking straight, my body is going to break down soon at the rate it's going. Also been eating out most nights, I need my good old home cooked meal...

I'm so tired! I'm trying to work more hours, I need the cash, I dont know where all my money goes, I'm out of cash by the end of the week, not good not good at all :(. So tomorrow I'm starting at 6am (which means I need to wake up at 4am *yawn*).

I'm so tired....I had a flat tyre this morning! So bad...I dont know when I punctured it :( mum wasnt too happy, she was already agitated this morning at me and my lil sister, so that didnt help. Had to buy a new set of tyres costing me $360 (and those were the cheapest :S) there goes my lunch this week. oh and I left the front passenger seat window open in the parking lot this morning @@ so lucky my car was still there when I came back. and mum wasnt too happy about that niether :(

rain rain go away...why is it raining today?? why was there thunder and lightning last night?...it's ruining christmas! (yeah I know that made absolutely no sense...).

I will post up some photos soon too. Til next time.

Return of the blog slacker

Its probably going to be a while before I blog again. I've been super busy with college and work and everything else. Actually right now I should be doing my assignment due Wednesday and study for a test on the same day :(. I will post up photos of what I've been up to once in a while instead of having a written blog, because I simply have no time.

Until next time, Peace!

Saturday, November 1

Yeah..I like that movie.

That's it, when I get my full lisence (and a couple thousand dollars) I'm going to buy a yellow Volkswagen T2 (Hippie van)! As well as my Mini Cooper. yeah...that was random.

Photos from Animania After Party

Photo credits go to Carmen, Dirza, Jenn, Rosalie

Sunday, October 12

-Untitled for the time being-

Animania After party was last night, had to buy a dress and everything :(. Oh before the party, I accidentally cut the tip of my finger off while slicing leaks at the temple, it bled like crazy :S, still hurts now actually (knives are sharp people!).

Ok, last night's speedy re-cap: Drove by myself to Ashfield, proved to be a dud 'cause I had no idea where I was going and was calling Jenn every ten minutes (a supposed 23minute trip turned into an hours trip :S). Finally met up with Jenn and other volunteers (who found Jenn while she was waiting for me). Arrived at the party barely recognising anyone, though made a few new friends also. Kinda bored most of the night, wasnt what I expected, wasnt too bad, but still. Had soft serves at Maccas after (thanks to Anthony for paying). Parted ways with our new friends, Jenn and I headed to the city for a late night coffee as per usual to our many outings (the night isnt complete without our routine cuppa joe at Gloria Jeans sitting for at least 2-3hs, though last night it was fairly late and all the Gloria Jeans' were closed at that time so we went to a different cafe) finally went home at about 5am where I would have to wake up in two hours to head for work.

Also Jenn and I drove separately, Jenn being the stronger driver than I am, drove 2 of the 3 guys to Maccas while poor Thomas was stuck with me. I must give the guy props for actually getting back into my car after the "incident" (I wont scare future passengers of mine by actually telling you what happened:P but I do warn you that if you ever do go for a ride in my car and I'm driving-be ready for anything). I did give him the option of going into a safer ride with Jenn, but he stuck with me, such a trooper. Plus Jenn realised after we could have all travelled in one car seeing how we were going back to Ashfield anyways to drop the guys off at the train station and saved a bit of petrol in the process (d'oh!).

Well that's my short version, may have missed a few points, Jenn will probably fill them in when she uploads the photos from last night. Now I'm tired, I might head to bed. 'Til next time, Peace.

Wednesday, October 8

I want to live in a penthouse 19storeys above the ground looking over the city with 10 other people!

Ok I've been slacking on the blogging lately, I wouldnt be blogging now if only my college blog were working and I could do my homework, but wateves, I'll do it at college later :0 :) :P.

So lets see..the last couple of days? Long weekend just past, I went to work on Labour day Monday clueless to the fact I didnt have to go (well I did, just not at North Sydney) so I have NO income this week, it's going to be a struggle :S.

Went dress shopping with Jenn for the Animania After Party on Monday. I dislike/loathe/HATE dress shopping plus I didnt get anything anyways, I'm doomed. Speaking of which, Animania volunteers party this weekend, for all our "hard" work. Will be blogging on that when I can, Jenn would probably have all the photos (damn my crappy phone camera) if she remembers to bring her camera. Hopefully my car will be good for the night, hasnt exactly been reliable lately. but I did some "tweaking" should be fine, just need to fil up the tank and we're on the go ;). We shall see...oh also you guys will see my new hairdo ^^

I had a headache and couldnt sleep last night and I wanted to so bad! (dont you hate it when that happens?), and then my mum, my lovely, caring mum woke me up bright and early this morning (thanks mum (not)). anyways, must head to college now, no rest for the wicket as they say (what does that even mean???). until next time. Peace.

Some things are amazing

Found this on vinylpulse.com. It's a Blavatski & Son's Automated Kismet Disseminator (fortune teller. inspired by the victorian-era) designed by Doktor A. It looks great. I havnt been up to date with the urban pop culture world for a while (avoiding temptation) went to see what's new and that was what caught me eye. The piece is on exhibition in Detroit.

"This sweet fortune teller piece sucks us into his universe abuzz with wondrous machinery. The inclusion and execution of cleverly thought out details from the realistic levers and handles to the detailed printed instructions on the top of the device up the awe factor and increase believability. Beyond all that though, the piece is FUN to look at and dream about. Finally, the cherry on top here is that Dok loves his work and it shows in numerous ways including the humorous set of printed fortunes, including the sassy "You will purchase art from an English Man" one."

Total Awesomeness!!

The first time I saw this watch, I had to have it, though I had no money to buy it :(. This was 2 and a half months ago. I gave up on the thought of owning this totally rad watch, until this morning. On my way out of my house to get to college, I found a series of notes telling me to- well pretty much run around my front yard and back to my front door where I found this pretty neatly wrapped up yellow (my favourite colour;)) box in my electrical box. It was from Jenn! her belated birthday gift to me (she went through quite a bit to get it, and I totally apprecate every bit of it). I frackn' love it! though the picture does no justice to how totally awesome it really looks, it's a DJ turntable with a broken vinyl record (which acts as the second hand). It's so frackn' neat! and it's Tokidoki! (I love Tokidoki products!). Aw...it made my day and it was only 6.30 in the morning.

Wednesday, September 24

I havnt eaten since 12 and it's now 8pm :(

My aunt has gone back to Vietnam this morning, sister and I took her to the airport (I hate the airport), My mum was suppose to come too but some jerk at her work decided not to show up for his shift so my mum had to fill in. Total bummer. Took a taxi to the airport, the dumb guy took the back route to the airport even though I specifically told him to take the M5 (argh, I aint rich!). I helped my aunt with the forms and junk before I had to say goodbye to her at customs (who were pretty ticked off I was in the "restricted" area, oops). Yeah it's going to be weird not having her around, 3months just flew by. I get my room back though, and my bottom bunk and I can now re-set up my vinyl toys (my aunt kinda kept knocking them over while she was around :S). I will miss her.

After getting home I hadnt realised how much I ENJOY driving my car, having total control, just yeah everything. I love my car (yeah ok Jenn, I said it, I LOVE the car, who knew eh?). I have a 5am start tomorrow, should head to bed, til next time, peace!

Photo of the Week

Not a recent photo, but it holds great memories. It's the one and only photo I took on the day of my brithday a few weeks ago.

We could ride, Take my hand and watch the world go by. -Mae Summertime

Drove home today after work. All the windows were down so I could feel the cool night breeze and had Mae's Destination:Beautiful playing in the stereo. It felt so peaceful, it was a wonderful feeling, I dont know why I felt that way, but I just did.

Moon festival was yesterday, sadly I didnt go anywhere like previous years because I had work, plus it was pouring down rain yesterday (what was up with that???). I told Jenn a few days ago that I wanted a simple paper, candle lit lantern from Moon fest, but was bummed out cause I had no time to go out and get one. This arvo, Jenn told me, when I get home to check my mail box and when I did rush home, there was nothing inside :( but wait! before you all call Jenn a liar, I ran inside and asked my sister if there was mail and she handed over this white envelope that had a MINIATURE PAPER LANTERN inside!!! I was over the moon, it brought me such joy, it's just those little things, little simple things that make me happy. Rushed over to Jenn's house of course to thank her! and also to drop off some pies and spinach rolls (I know how much she loves those) from my work for her (waste not). It was a great afternoon, I'm still smiling. First official day of college tomorrow, feeling both anxious and nervous about the whole thing. Til then, peace!

Saturday, September 13

Its the little things...

What a wonderful sunny day it was today, loving it! The hot weather today, fantastic! Gosh I love this season and Summer soon to come. The long lazy afternoons, wearing my tees and shorts again (though I've gain weight...damn you winter!), just everything looks so much brighter and cheery :)

I havnt been home on a Saturday in soooo long, and it was great just to relax. to do my own thing, a day off from being told what to do. Had to go vote today, I hate having to do those things and to think people fought for the "right" to vote (obviously I aint a political person) luckily the line was super short (well no line at all actually) went in, wrote the number in the little squares and dashed out. Spent the rest of the day driving around, drove Jenn to the bank and back, went shopping with my sister and came home super exhasted and had a lil snooze before I had to pick up my mum and aunt from their outing. Good day, good day, great way to end my hectic week. Back to work tomorrow, one week without income is hard (petrol prices are a killer!). Until next time, Peace!

Wednesday, September 10

What? but!-she!-but!

New friends
Finally got my enrolments done yesterday (remembered my passport, phew!). Met some new friends while waiting in line, so that was cool. Seriously, everyone seemed to already be in their groups I felt so lonely :( until I met Marcella (love the name) and then Nita (I'm sure that's not the correct spelling, sorry). Few things didnt go so smoothly for me though during the enrolment process, or maybe it was just because I was dealing with a newbie...hmm, but all's good, got my uniform and photo ID.

First day of Orientation today (two-day orientation). I was told to wear my uniform...so I was TOLD...I come into the auditorium and practically NO ONE is wearing their uniform, gosh I felt like such a doof (no photo proof :P). but whatever. All in all, good day, met the lecturers, got freaked out about how "difficult" it will be, nearly died of thirst while walking to the other kitchen located in some other suburb and got free food, boo ya!

Earlier start tomorrow (no more staying up late to watch Sweeney Todd). Tomorrow, I get my timetable, text books, knives (mwhaha), learn grooming (yawn) and other stuff...should be FUN! note to self: bring the wagon.
***Free food!***

Monday, September 8

Prove you're Australian

Enrolment day for William Blue today and I didnt even get past Stage 1 (there's I think 6 stages altogether) of enrolment. I had forgotten my passport at home and apparently that's pretty important. Dumb thing is I actually went back home this morning to grab a belt before I left for the train station. Now I have to go all the way back tomorrow :(.

Photo of the Week

Photo taken by Jenn
Jenn took me to Moore Park (?) today for my birthday. It was an amazing park. We drove all the way there in my craptastic car. Had heaps of fun with the "wild life" and just enjoying the scenery. Fantastic, peacful day, just what I wanted ;).

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday today! :D

Hip hip HORRAY!

Just before i go poop i'd like to say...

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY NHI!! XD

May joy be with you... ;)

Sunday, August 31

mmm...cake

I want that cake, aw, you dont know how hard it is not to just grab a spoon and dig into it, but I must restrain myself, customers first. damn it. It's a vanilla deluxe mouse cake....*drool* I may only like it because it's stripey (I'm still into the Tim Burton thing) but it looks so gooooooooooood...I took this picture just before I had to let it go to the customer who had paid money for it :( oh well....(they bought TWO cakes by the way, rich greedy people...)

Animania Part II

Hey hey hey!

Last weekend Nhi and I went to the Animania 2008 Festival! Well, "went" isn't the proper word. Heh, we volunteered! Nhi was kinda dragged in by me. But it turns out that this was the best convention so far ;)
***We were in train-stable number 8***
Honestly I don't know how we did it. We woke up between 5-6am each day just to come on time. It was usually an 8am start. Freakin' freezing in the bloody morning. How can the weather keep getting COLDER!? Anyhoo the only antidote for being frozen once out of my oh-so-warm bed is knowing the fact I'll be seeing Nhi very soon. Plus a nice warm ride to the train station.
***Thats the look i get for being with her so early in the morning***

So on Saturday morning we left our homes and went past the sleeping neighbourhood watching the sky change from pitch black to inky blue, to a mix of everything with a blinding light (FYI: Thats the sun). The train ride was ok...though we needed to eat breakfast even though our stomach was not ready to tackle any carbos yet. But it can't be avoided, I needed something to get that toothpaste flavour out of my mouth. YUK! And then after I get food, I need drinks. But thankfully Animania provided these essentials, but i felt sick after eating one toasted crumpet. :S

We were assigned to Registration/Cloakroom/Helpdesk. It was great! Better than expected actually! Nhi and I hogged the laptops first thing they were available and were totally pumped to start serving the crazy anime fans. The other volunteers were awesome, so freindly and open which made it so much more fun and light hearted. We decided to have a competition as to who would snag the most patrons to their laptops! Hahahahah!! So stupid and yet so fun. I know I won. Nhi sucked, I must admit! Hahah! Poor girl was wedged between me and Johnny (person on other side of Nhi) and since we were both so high yelling "NEXT waiting!!!!!" people just ignored Nhi. Mwahahah!! Hilarious!

The day went by really smoothly. Lots of food was given. Such good hospitality! As it got closer to lunch time a handful of volunteers handed out the food. They actually went to each booth to find all the volunteers, it was like our health was their main priority. You could hear the walkie talkies from the managers' sqwarking "Who hasn't been fed!?" or "Karaoke needs fuel! Pronto!". Its so sweet of them. Theres going to be an after party in a few weeks maybe months, but I'm really looking forward to it. We'll be pumped up again by then ;).

What did we eat you ask? We had HOT (ok, maybe warm) fried rice! Very yummy. It was home-made by the parents' of the main organiser. Tasted really good! Like i honestly believed it was pre-ordered. The portions and ingredients were so well done! Then there were the "snacks" I suppose. There were boxes of instant bowl noodles and stacks of fun size chocolates. Like so much there were even left overs when Sunday was over. Bread, crumpets, cans of soft drinks and not to mention so much varieties of spreads. Really well thought-out. Oh and they brought in microwaves, toasters and a HUGE and i mean MASSIVE water kettle. Its not even a kettle, its this gigantic tall pot looking thing that boiled water. Really convenient. I might even aquire one for future outdoor purposes. LoL.

***What was left from my portion of food (haha! appetising isn't it?)***

Inside the convention there wasn't as much as I'd hoped. Which is probably a good thing. I didn't spend so much as $15 in total. Not too bad at all. I mean last time i spent almost $300 in total at Supanova? That includes taxi fees and travels. Still a hefty price, man. That was all my savings for who knows how long.

Cloakroom and Helpdesk (combined) was really good. I didn't expect it to be so ... whats that word? Cosy? No. Fun?. No, not that simple. Spectacular? No, thats just overboard. Intense? no...though thats close. BONDING! Yes thats what i'm looking for! Being in Cloakroom and Helpdesk made us involve ourselves more and things just became more intimate.

I've already forgotten most of what happened on that Saturday but Sunday was really quiet. People were bored. Nhi was bored. I was bored. Everybodys' energy was just being drained by the lack of patrons.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE ARE BORED
***They miraculously produce decks of cards. UNO to be exact***

***Or they take photos of people trying to use time wisely (i.e. sleeping) Side note: That is not my extended arm***
I mean there was a HUGE difference. On Saturday we were serving people non-stop for 3hours straight. On Sunday it was only for 20mins and then after that the rare stray person would come by to see what was all the comotion about. And since there were about 6 people on duty and ONE poor patron...you get the picture. Everything was pretty lifeless. But one event that had me perked up for a few minutes was Nhi! Johnny (guy next to Nhi) had dropped a thumb-tack earlier while trying to pin table clothes down and couldn't find it. This whole time we were all saying "Oh well, its too bad for the patrons, I guess. We'll see who the sucker is that steps on it *snicker*" But 10mins down the track Nhi yells at me "Jenn! I found the stupid thumb tack!" I look up thinking "What?" and she holds the pin up and says "I was SITTING on it the whole time!" (BURST OF LAUGHTER) Ahahaha!! So funny! And so like me, I bombarded questions at her like "How did you take it out?" "Are you bleeding?" "Did you full on sit on it?" etc etc. Hahahaha!! Aparently not. She wasn't bleeding (at least thats what she says, i can't verify that fact) and then took her chance to bite Johnny's head off for being so careless. All the while i was still thinking about how she didn't fully sit on it. I mean who sits down SLOWLY and so careful like they knew they were going to be pricked? LoL. Still its just plain funny. So yea, that was the highlight of Sunday. At the end of the day we got free pizza. Though Nhi and I didn't want any. I don't think neither of us would want pizza for the next decade. :S

***Most of the time we mingled with this lot. It was a really good experience. And yes, that is Krystel***

In the end we packed up, took a grand photo, huggled and went home.

Oh yea, when we were back in town neither Nhi nor I wanted to go home just yet, (Like when do we ever?) so we drove to KFC and Mcdonalds drive-thru and literally talked for 3hours straight. In the car of course. I mean it was splendid. Besides the part where the car-park cleaner came past and scared the living daylights out of me. I saw a moving shadow being cast across Nhi's seat and i turned to my window but little did i know that i'd be almost face-to-face (even with the glass in between) with some old man in dark clothing and a black beanie!! But anyway the car was warm. @^________^@

The next day i slept till 2pm! I wonder what the "after party" will do to me...

Animania

Animania(Cloakroom section): [L-R] Anthony, Carmen, Jenn, Mario, Nhi

Animania was my weekend along with Jenn (no surprise there ;)). Another excuse to wake up at 5am (not happy). I actually enjoyed this one, for real. It was a nice surprise. To be honest I wasnt looking forward to this one out of the other events I volunteered for, but it proved to be better than the rest. Maybe it was just because all the volunteers were so friendly to one another.

Jenn and I were in Registration. Passing time by competing against each other in this lil game Johnny (fellow volunteer) suggested where we tried to register as many patrons as we could and whoever with the highest number wins (easy peasy right?). I lost count after 6 people (pathetic) but it was crazy fun, so much laughing and shouting and stuff.

Saturday was generally the "funner" day, while Sunday was pretty quiet and everyone (staff) had lost their energy (bored for long periods at a time). Jenn spent pretty much the whole Saturday being distracted by this dude Anthony, totally didnt let me have her attention at all (so mean!) but the other volunteers were so easy to talk too that I didnt feel so lonely, though I would have rather Anthony not hogging Jenn ALL the flipping day long. Actually they were entertainment for me and Mario (friend of Anthony's who pretty much got ignored too) they were acting like an old married couple, squabbling the whole time. Everyone noticed. Too funny.

On Sunday it was rather slow moving, not as many patrons as Saturday's crowd (the line ended in 20mins, while on Saturday it took nearly over 3hours to get everyone one through). That day someone decided it might have been better if we thumb-tacked the table cloths down to the table so that it would move about but it wasnt such a fab idea when everyone had such a difficult time securing the thumb-tacks to the table. Especially when Johnny (he sat next to me) had to somehow lose one of thumb-tacks, everyone thought it probably landed under the table and that it wouldnt hurt patrons/anyone, that is until a lil later I felt something prick my butt! and when I got up to find out what it was, I pulled out the missing thumb-tack out of my pants! Why me?!

Besides that lil incident, it was a good weekend (I may have drank a tad too much complimentary soft drink on Saturday, felt groggy on the way home, but all is good). I didnt buy anything this time besides food really :( I need to learn how to save. So no new photos of TOYS :( though I did get this WRIBS bracelet from Jackson (he runs PININ) so that brighten me up (I like having something to bring home on outings like this. But we got to keep our ID badges and T-shirts, so that's rad too ;)). Thats pretty much all I can say on this. until next time.

Train tickets are dangerous sharp things.

I havnt been late night shopping in so long (approximately two years), also havnt bought DVDs in so long (Juno is finally released, I wanna buy it! but cant :S). So I went out tonight with my mum and aunt (it was a painful experience, never shopping with my mum again. argh!). Anyways on a brighter note, I found THIS!

in EzyDVD. Was a pleasant surprise, brought a smile to my face, I love the cover (those who have seen the film Get Smart know why it's funny ;)). Too broke to buy it though :(. Oh Well.

In other news: I've got a really bad paper cut on my thumb from my train ticket, it was full on bleeding (those things are sharp!). Oh and I made a paper plane during work (yeah I was "suppose" to be "working" at the time) and it flew! It flew so well that it went over the pie warmer, in the direction of the "eating area", did a loopty loop and hit this gentleman's leg who was at the time peacefully enjoying his pie...oops ~~

That's about it today. Peace out.

"I'm the first to speak. You're the last to know"

One of my all time fave band MAE is re-releasing their first album Destination:Beautiful with a DVD! too excited. Though it'll be released next year, but I'm still crazy excited. (for full details check it here).

Nowadays I dont buy CDs as often as I used to, 'cause I'm majorly broke. I do miss it, it's just not the same, I like having the physical CD in my hand, going through the lil booklet, looking at the album art, everything that completes the whole experience (especially with concept albums). I dont know, there's a lil bit more of an appreciation. I'm sure people will say it's suppose to be about the music, I totally agree but it's not the same when all your music is just sitting in your computer or in your ipod (soon to be forgotten about). One day I'd like to be cleaning my room ("one day" ha!) and find a lost random CD that I hadnt listened to in forever and just have all those feelings I had when I first bought the CD, how old I was, why I bought it, how it made me feel and popping it into the good ol' discman ;).

Random embarrassing fact: the first Cd I ever bought (I still have it somewhere in the house, and every time I do find it, it makes me cringe) was Niki Webster's Strawberry Kisses (I know, I know the shame of it all *hanging head low*) I still remember seeing the ad on tele back when I was about 11 years old and begging my mum to buy it for me, then putting it on replay everyday (for a really really long time) and even...*hanging head even lower* dancing to it....

So in the rare occasions when I do buy CDs I usually buy the special editions with DVDs, it's so much more worth it (who doesnt want to see more of their fave bands eh?). So I'll definately be buying the Mae CD ;).

Hic!

My favourite earphones decided to die on me today :(. I tell you it was the longest train ride home ever! And this guy just had to have his ipod on full blast for the duration of the journey(jerk). I'm too broke to buy new ones, so I have to use the earphones that come with the product (I really dont like those, they dont fit in my ears and they HURT).

In other news: I currently have the HIC!-ups.

In more news: I got an email from my future college last friday and they're sending out my offer letter and it should be coming soon. yay! :)

I say "week" but this probably wont be a regular thing.

Untitled

Not much really happening lately besides work work and more work. Still waiting on that William Blue letter (like where is it???). Enjoying driving the car around (in the areas that I actually know, other than that, scared breathless :S). Finally set up my voicemail in my mobile phone, the setup procedure is a pain! This was my 4th attempt, I usually get impatient and hang up, but this time it was kinda important. I'm still broke, getting a job has made no difference, so that's depressing to know, no more designer toys for a while :(. Being broke also means no live shows, been aching for one though..Jason Mraz was here last Saturday (sold out show) heard it was good (bummer). Yeah..not much happening, not much is going to happen for a lil while, maybe I'll finally get to see much talked about Dark Knight film next week, maybe, it truly is long overdue, I must watch it, see what the hub bub is about. Nearly puked during work today, wasnt a good feeling. Didnt realise I hadnt eaten proper all day, I ate chocolate and drank a lot of softdrink, was not a good combo then I had a Mocca chiller and my whole stomach just couldnt take it anymore, though I kept it in (which was painfuly gross). I feel a whole lot better now that I've had a nice home cooked meal :). Well I'm wiped from the long day and I might head to bed (it's only 10pm, I feel so old...). until next time, Peace.

"I know where we are!" -Jenn

I went Animania Volunteer training with Jenn yesterday (I'll probably save what I actually think about the training day til AFTER Animania). That was from 10am -1pm. We caught a train to the city instead of taking my car because I didnt want to drive all the way to the city..though then later that night...(will continue later in the blog). After Animania training we went out and had lunch, wondered the city, looked for the Lindt cafe (where we bought two dark chocolates with passion fruit filling (wasnt as great as we'd expected, expensive too mind you)), had ice-cream, more food and headed back to the train station at about 6pm.

oh and during the train ride, Jenn decided to "confess" to me that she was a "transgender" and that she was in love with me and that I should become her man. Which made absolutely NO sense! Too funny. She slowly came to realise that her joke had backfired on her. hahaha! (leave the lame jokes to me Jenn :P).

The night wasnt over yet. Jenn and I didnt want to go home, being such an un-awesome day, it was just wrong to go home disappointed. So we decided to go for a ride in my car all the way to Burwood, which also proved to be a disappointment when all that was open were restaurants and the cinema. Next plan, maybe a Drive-In movie, watch the Dark Knight (I know, I still havnt watched the film yet :S) sounded fun, until I checked session times (on my trusty 3G compatible phone ;)), they werent even playing the Dark Knight :(. Then I suggested we go Newtown, watch live music, eat and stuff. Though neither of us knew where that was.... Went into a petrol station to fill up the tank and asked for directions. We drove around for 2 hours searching for Newtown (a place that everyone we had come across for directions said "it's easy...!") We circled the city 3x. If I had a dollar for every time Jenn said "I know where we are!" I'd be rich, Rich Rich! I tells ya! :D. In the end we didnt go to Newtown, we gave up and headed for McDonald's for one last meal and then home. Though we didnt get to do anything, driving around for two hours and (kinda) getting lost and laughing the whole way was a fun experience! Next time we'll actually PLAN and I'll have a street directory in my car ;).

Oh No I forgot!

I forgot about World Wide Moment today! I'm so bummed out, I wanted to participate and everything. Maybe nxt time... hopefully then I'll remember.

My first Car

My mum bought me my first car today. Nothing fancy of course (it's a Volkswagen Golf '97) . It's going to take some time to get used to, too many separate knobs and buttons that I'm not used to (especially the indicators being on the left instead of the right, been turning on the windscreen wipers for the past hour or so). Anyways, Yay! I've got a car!

Apologises to Jenn, I didnt mean to go off at you, wasnt your fault, I was just tired and grumpy and frustrated and sore and and and! Sorry :(...

SMASH! v2

My version of SMASH! ;)

Nhi and I went to Smash! as volunteers yesterday. It was "okay". Very small, but it was cozy. I liked the volunteers this time compared to Suapnova. Way more easy to communicate with. We were in the Karaoke department. Last thing to cross our minds, thats for sure. Turned out to be really fun. Its really interesting watching people sing, whether good or not. I thought it was great. There was only one person that killed my ears, she yelled into the microphone and was high pitched at the wrong times. And she sung twice too. @@. The confidence. Whoa. All in all the vibe of the Karaoke room was excellent. Nice and bright and it had a large audience! Everyone was nice :)

***There was only one way to distinguish us "volunteers" from the patrons; the arm bands! I reckon its a very smart idea ;)***

On our breaks we went to see what stalls were in the Roundhouse and very little caught my interest. Though i was really tempted to go to PININ but i was just as broke as Nhi. No i was far more poor than her. I could not spend more than $5 on food so lucky we were given free food ^^, Even if it were only cold pizza and empty coke cans. Finally i dragged Nhi to PININ and then the guy that Nhi is aquatained to (Jackson i believe is his name) recognised her and surprisingly was able to get a limited edition toy she has been craving for. Yay! That made her day! And she also got a twisted book of nursery rhymes! That was so adorably wicked!
***A veiw of the Roundhouse from above***

Anyway the food was very limited. They had a Takoyaki store that took 20mins to make four balls and this little "Paris" bakery. Pretty neat. Very fresh! Nhi and I split a Strawberry tart in half and it was delicious!

The rest of the day went by like a blurr. Soon enough we said goodbye, had some nice cake and left. The night was still early and I was nowhere close to going home. So we went to find late dinner.

Went to the city of course. First Nhi needed the loo. This is a rare moment. LoL. She never needs to pee (i wonder where does it all stay?) This part of the night was the funniest! There was not one place Nhi could go to that had an open toilet. We first went to the building across Capitol, and the toilets were locked so we went upstairs and apparently the toilets there has been demolished. Decided to stroll to Market City. There Nhi was able to find a proper toilet. Still hungry we left to get maccas. And she needed to go AGAIN. There was no loo at maccas,so we decided to head to the Darling Harbour one but we didnt notice till we were right at the entrance that there were metal bars and a huge padlock indicating that this toilet was closed. Made me laugh so hard. So we chose to go to the toilet at the China Town foodcourt. The glass doors wouldn't open but there were people about, and when Nhi put her hand on the glass it opened. And to my amusment all the escalators were in one direction; downwards. We could NOT go up. *snicker*(I'm so mean, I know). The toilets are at the top floor. Busting Nhi whines and whines and i can't seem to remember how she found another toilet. Hahahaha!. It was just hilarious.

Yea ... the rest of the night was spent at Gloria Jeans sipping hot chocolate, iced chocolate and eating sweet krispy kremes. Twelve o'clock came 'round and we had to leave. 'Twas freezing out in the open air. Caught the train and then a cab home.

While we were waiting for a cab to pick us up this path-cleaning machine was coming our way and it was very noisy. So we ran all the way to the next street and i honestly believe the driver found this amusing and sped up a fraction. Ahh! It was so dark, cold and deserted and all we hear is this loud petrifying machine that looks like it will run us over. And to my surprise when we did get to the next street, minutes later it was behind us again! I was sure it was going to turn the corner away from us, but NO! It just HAD to cross the small road and force us to squash agaisnt the railings holding onto our dear lives. I am SO sure the driver went off course to scare the crap out of us. But of course, i don't give a flying fart anymore. So onto a brighter topic...

Next up is Animania! Can't wait!

Cheerio!

SMASH!

Jenn and I went to SMASH! (Sydney Manga & Anime Convention) yesterday as Volunteers in the karaoke section.

***Warning: This blog may be longer than usual***

The day started at 6am for both Jenn and I. Caught a taxi to the train station, picked up Jenn on the way (she had a headache at the time :S not such a great start to the day, on top of that it was COLD). Got to the city at 7 something where we would catch the bus to UNSW. Before we could figure out which bus it was that we were suppose to catch (even though the SMASH! committee had sent us an email with all the bus details on it) an old western man (who later we found out was a Sensei at TAFE) saw us running across the road "unsafely" and lectured us about "how dangerous" that was. We knew we knew. He thought we were from Taiwan (that's a first for me), we told him we werent and asked him if he knew which bus went to UNSW. Lucky for us he DID know and was a huge help, though before he let us go, he asked a few more questions like which Uni we went to and what we studied and stuff. Nice old man(which was probably one of the reasons why we couldnt just leave him and go to catch the bus(even though we were running late :S)).

Finally got to UNSW at 8.15am (Volunteers were suppose to get to UNSW Roundhouse at 8am (convention officially opened at 10am for patrons)). Found our way to the green room (which wasnt even green, hmmm :P) got our names marked off and headed to the Karaoke room where we would "help" set up (or rather struggle with our bright Green Volunteer arm bands! (the safety pins used to pin the band together wouldnt pierce the band, but instead it would bend the safety pin itself (photo proof from Jenn. I must snag photos from her))). Met our other fellow volunteers (cool bunch of people).

Patrons were slowly filing in around 10.15,all excited and eager. Though at that point I had to have my two hour break (Jenn joined me during the first hour then after that I was by my lonesome...). Jenn bought Japanese octopus and Prawn balls (for correct name, go to Jenn's blog on this event ;)) though she wasnt able to eat it as she had to return to the karaoke room and her food wasnt ready yet. So I stayed behind (seeng how I still had another hour to kill) and waited (for who knows how long!) to collect her food. After that I wondered the Roundhouse once more and bought for my brother a Bleach DVD (vol.9), a 1m wooden sword and a Bleach figurine set. In attempt not to tempt myself into buying toys (I'm broke) I avoided going to PININ (FYI: PININ sells vinyl toys) and headed back to the Karaoke room 30mins early. I was Door person (checking if they had tickets) for the next 40mins or so and was FREEZING, I had left my scarf and jacket back in the green room, lucky Jenn had her big nice bright orange warm jacket with her and let me borrow (thanx J).

Karaoke Competition started at 1pm, It's amazing how serious the competitors are (so strange, it's funny). there's apparently a lot of pressure, one girl broke down into tears in the middle of her performance (sad really.I apologise, Jenn tells me that the song she was singing was very emotional and deep, now I feel like such a douche :S) . Another came off stage all frustrated, exclaiming "that was disgusting!" (FYI: when I say "stage" I mean the front of the room). Most are confident though. My fave (also the the crowds' I'd say) was this asian guy, had a whole routine and everything! Amazingly freaky! A video of him should pop up on YouTube soon (saw a couple of people recording him with their mobile phone) when it does, I'll be sure to post it here ;). Though before him I was pretty much falling asleep, it was getting quite boring just sitting there watching and listening to people singing songs that I've never heard of or understand for that matter (most were in Japanese, but good on them for being able to sing in Japanese and having fun).

3pm, Jenn and I went on our last break. Went back to the green room after we heard there was FREE pizza! (boo ya!) though it was pretty cold when we arrived but still a lot left. oh! oh! Selina and Rose (two of the volunteers who were working with us) bought Jenn and I drinks 'cause they felt bad that they didnt come back on time after their break (which was totally cool with me, and totally nice of them to do so) Jenn got Milk Green Tea (?) and I got this lemon/sparkly water. It was the most interesting looking bottle, had a lot of fun trying to open that bottle that's for sure until of course it fizzed over! Sticky sweet water everywhere! plus I let out a loud "ah!" causing everyone in the last two rows in crowd turn around (oops).

Anyways, back on topic. Jenn and I wondered the roundhouse once more. and my plan in avoiding PININ failed and I ended up buying a toy, that Jackson (the guy who runs PININ) got especially for me (I've been looking/wanting the the toy for a while now (picture below)) and Gris Grimly’s Wicked Nursery Rhymes, love em both! though I kinda used my brother's money to buy it.... :S so I gotta pay him back...

ok this blog entry is getting rather long. I'm gonna end it by saying it was an OK day, could have been more fun (if certain people were more clear with instructions) but overall good. Next Animania. I'll post a few photos up from SMASH when the other volunteers send me them (so check back here later) and Jenn may or may not blog in more detail about the day. (I was rather vague).

My next attempt at getting my P's for driving is this Tuesday. until Next time. Peace.

Back Online.

I'm finally back online! I'm sure no one misses me after two days but I'd like to think somone does ;). Anyways, been an annoying two days trying to get connected to the internet, I'm not going to bore anyone with the details just at one point I felt like throwing the computer out the window. heh. I dont want to point blame but it was ENTIRELY my brother's fault >:)

Some randomness: the other night I had a dream that I went to a free Jonas Brother's concert, what the heck? I dont even like the Jonas Brother's nor thought or heard about them in a while (lil sister is a fan) what the? (cant be bothered to find out the meaning).

Ok well I'm going to go Re-download everything and it's going to take a while with my crappy internet connection. Peace out.

Saturday, July 26

Gosh darn it!

I have lost ALL my files! My music, photos, podcasts, videos, everything! My computer has gone back to DEFAULT settings. why?! Plus I've got no internet connection(nooo! How shall I comunicate with my friends now?! What? Telephone? Old fashion face-to-face meeting?! What are you on about?). So my blog about training for SMASH! and Animania today may or may not happen later. Until I fix everything. Peace out!

"Missed it by THAT much"- Maxwell Smart

Watched Get Smart with the girls today! We were sitting right at the back laughing our heads off (I think we were the only ones laughing so hard (except for the one old lady infront of me) everyone else was fairly quiet). It was fun. Catherine joined us (pretty rare, her going to uni and that). Yeah, I've been waiting for the film to come out since I knew they were actually MAKING one. Though Steve Carell was more Steve Carell than he was Maxwell Smart, which is a tad dissapointing, dont get me wrong, I love Steve Carell, but I was hoping for more of the classic Don Adam's Maxwell Smart humour. At least they tried to use some of the old...I dont want to say it.. "catch phrases" but yeah...like "would you believe...?" or "missed it by that much" but I think they only used the "The old [insert whatever situation the bad guy has gotten Max caught into] trick" once, that was always a favourite of mine. All in all a hilarious film. Next- Dark Knight. Oh I also drove Jenn home during my driving lesson, I think she's OK XD.

In other news: my Heroes season 1 came today! To my surprise it was in a SLIM CASE, I wanted the thicker cardboard flip over case. but oh well. Still yay! Heroes! I finally get to watch it all, I missed a few episodes when it was on tele. oh and MASI OKA (Hiro) was in Get Smart, That guy is funny! (Random side fact- he was a Digital Effects artist in the last three Star Wars movies, how cool is that?!).

In more news: Jenn and I are going to our Training session for Animania and SMASH! tomorrow. Problem is, they're both at the same time, gonna be a LONG day...

New Toy!

Brrm Brrm!!! My Zoomie came this morning!!! Another Kidrobot blindbox, I got Mo' (she's photographed above). I would have liked Nigel with the lil Anti-war sign but what are ya gonna do? I love her (she's got glasses! I like people (and/or things) who wear glasses;)(hey! they kinda look like J's glasses!)). She comes with her own lil driver's license too ^^. Now I just need her lil pink scooter and she's set (and a Peace Nigel would be great too;)).

:(

I failed my driving test...I would have past if I hadnt gotten that ONE automatic FAIL! I got that one fail in the last 5mins of my driving test (you can imagine how bummed out I am right now) darn it...Another 6 weeks til my next test (that's if I'm lucky, that RTA is usually booked out for weeks).

Jesus Walks

A couple of these Jesus statues were standing around near my work today. They've got "Jesus Walks" on the side of them (most likely the name of the collection of artwork). The front one is African, there's a grey one to the left and one far back that's all hippie like. I didnt have time to read the lil bits of info on the front of the statues, I might check em out on Thursday (and maybe take a better photo (this was late in the afternoon, lighting was not good for my crappy camera phone).

Saturday, July 12

Work today. Kinda slept in...(takes me about an hour and 40mins to get to work (the other shop)), so I was about 15mins late (lucky it was only 15mins, I calculated it as 40mins).

Quite a few people travelling with luggages today at the city (I assume their all here for World Youth Day), saw a couple of groups waving the Spain flag. It's going to be packed next week when I go to work, should be fun, exciting and also tiring.

***My blue cupcake from work (it is BLUE, the photo just doesnt capture it so well...)***
***Waiting for the train home (not so crowded compared to this morning at the city). Was sitting in the cold for 30mins eating my cupcake***
