Helping Out

I went to the Temple today, helping out in the kitchen. Went to replace my mum, she usually goes after her English class every week, but today was my brother's birthday, so she didnt have time to go (Birthday stuff to do), so I decided I'd help out (be a good daughter and use my time productively for once) while my mum was in class. Some of the ladies were impressed with the fact that I was such a good daughter, helping my mum out and all and then they started comparing me to their kids. Little do they know, my mum constantly asks me to go help out all the time, but I never do, so I was feeling a lil guilty, but I couldnt tell them that, couldnt do that to my mum could I?

Some snaps from today.

*** Small Slug I found in the mint leaves. I was imagining my mum spotting the slug and wondered if she would start crying like an idiot (she's deathly afraid of anything wiggly ie. Worms, caterpillars, slugs etc. etc.). I was also staring at the slug for a good 5-10mins, all the while throwing the plucked mint leaves into the stalk (rubbish) pile and the stalks back in the starting pile***
***Thats my working area, (notice the innovative way I changed the crate into a table :P) I was chopping lemon grass (Jenn- that's what lemon grass looks like), So everyone was working on the floor (so country like, I loved it) and because I'm such an unbalanced person I turned the crate into my table, and I had to sit on a kids stool, my knees were close to my stomach and my behind was going numb very quickly!******So I was sitting outside by myself, chopping lemon grass and some (a LOT) pigeons started flying into the back yard and started eating at the noodles that had been spilt earlier (like teeny amount) I was amazed, they dont usually go into peoples back yards.(well not mine anyways***
***More thieving pigeons*** ***The Simpsons!!! Someone gave the temple a huge Simpsons movie poster to cover up their gate. so darn cool!***

Ahahahahaha! Are you saying that you put the mints in the WRONG pile?! Ahahahah!!! As in you were so entranced about the slug that your hands went the wrong way? Ahahahah!!! WOwzrs man! ROFL!!

OOoo I finally see the talked-about-so-much simpsons movie poster. Btw is it plastic? Cuz it sure seems to be durable...i mean it HAS been raining these past few years.

Pigeons...such disgusting things. Yet thankfully theyre harmless, unlike the grossly over-grown IBISes. Yuk! I sound like a girl... :B

I know what lemon grass is! Just when you say it I seem to always see your mum putting it into that rice-paper roll. Btw, it was DELICIOUS! Love your mum's cooking. You should praise her more often.

Ergh, i havnt washed vegies in a while, so i havnt seen any slugs. Brings back memories...*cringe*

If you really did do the old fashioned way of cutting on the ground and all that all the time, you'd so hate it. Just like all the people in the poor countries. i.e. China. But it sure is refreshing for us city gals to do it the hard way. Its fun! Im super happy you had a good time. Your happiness is my happiness ;D

Mmm! I smell dinner on its way! *floating towards the smell*

Ar'll cath yuu lather! (I'll catch ya later) *talking around an impossibly enormous mouthful of food*
